Habelman Bros Company is a GlobalGAP certified company and we are committed to providing a superior quality, fresh cranberry that is safe and meets the expectations of our customers. We are able to accomplish this by applying proper procedures and policies to the many areas of production. FIELD & HARVEST
Habelman Bros Company has committed to a GAP (Good Agricultural Practices) policy that sets forth expectations for employees in regards to; sanitation and hygiene, food security, employee safety as well as other elements that insure a safe food product and safe environment.
Habelman Bros Company is committed to a testing program that ensures product is free of chemical and biological contamination. Fresh product taken directly from the field is tested for MRL’s (maximum residue levels) to ensure we are meeting standards set by various national and international markets.
Habelman Bros Company makes use of an IPM (Integrated Pest Management) program to minimize the use of crop protection products. Strict product guidelines that pertain to application rates, re-entry and harvest intervals, as well as following proper protocol for weather related activities are followed when crop protection products are used to ensure the safety of our product and staff.
Habelman Bros Company has instituted an array of training events to ensure we produce a superior quality product as well as create a safe environment for our employees.
PACKINGHOUSE
Habelman Bros Company packinghouse facilities are committed to a strict set of GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices). Policies and Procedures have been developed to address a wide range of issues from employee hygiene and safety as well as facility & equipment sanitation to monitoring processes to ensure food safety and security.
Many monitoring activities to ensure food safety are performed throughout the process and involve such actions as visual monitoring and metal detection on the finished product.
SUMMARY
Habelman Bros Company is committed to continually improving the effectiveness of its Food Safety Program. The active participation of all staff is required to ensure the maintenance and continual improvement of this program. Habelman Bros Company has dedicated a food safety person to ensure that this program remains a top priority of our company. By way of this dedication, we will ensure that our customer receives a safe, high-quality product. In addition, Ray J Habelman is dedicated to ensuring compliance with and implementation of existing, current and relevant national and local regulations on worker’s health, safety and welfare.
